Quilt tops should lay flat and be square to avoid puckering when quilted. Excess fabric in borders can result in puckering.

Remove all excess threads

Pin your name and phone number to your quilt top and backing.  Also, mark the top of your quilt top if it is not easily noticeable or if you have a preference.

Quilt back and batting should be at least 8 inches wider than you quilt top. (4" all the way around). This extra fabric is used to pin the back to the quilt frame and provides the best results when quilting.

if you have a directional fabric for you backing fabric take that into consideration when piecing and pressing, please, mark the top of the backing fabric.
